Today was once again a wonderful sunny day. The bunnies all really love the long days of play in the runs. We even treated Mummy Shojo and her babies to a long play in the big run.

We welcomed 5 new guinea pigs to stay with us ! They are Powpow, Piggy, Choco, Hughug and Dicdic. A wonderful little choir of Guinea Pig wooping in the mornings!!!

Another glorious day so the bunnies are out and enjoying themselves!

Keith once again only wanting to eat the grass outside the run!!! So I sat with him a while and he mowed a little patch for me!!

Miss Jay always likes to have a little clean and grooms herself when she first gets out. So I leave her for some personal time ;-)

Sugar the rat is going home any minute now so I treated him to some of his favourite nibbles. Just don't mess with him when there is Jatz involved!! Hope to see you again soon Sugar!

Apologies for not posting for a few days. Just having connection issues!!! 

Everyone here is doing great! The nicer weather over the last few days has meant that all our bunnies have had long days of soft green grass and fresh air. 

Sugar the rat is finding his way in to more and more parts of our daily life, he loves to get out anf just hang out with us while we watch TV. He has a very cute little habit of hiding away every last little piece of treats before he eats any.  We will really miss him when he goes home in a couple days.

A nice change today from the rainy weather. All the bunnies were very excited to be able to get out for a run and some fresh grass!

As usual Miss Jay just chills out and mows the lawn for me and Keith jumps around like a crazy bunny! Keith is a funny guy, he can eat grass in the hutch but waits til I open the door and then eats from the grass just outside of the hutch! The old "grass is always greener on the other side" certainly comes to mind. ;-)

Sugar the rat loves his pats and treats. Everytime we come over to the cage he is ready to play!!

It's been a tropical past couple of days with high temps and flash storms but the bunnies have been safely under shelter and kept as cool as possible including using ice bricks that they love to lie on!

Miss Jay has just spent the time hanging about inside and doesn't seem phased too much! Keith is still as active as ever, always on the move.

Sugar sleeps the day away and gets up for a run around and  treat when the weather starts to cool in the evening.

Our babies are starting to open their eyes and move around the cage much more now. They are very cute!

A beautiful day today and all the bunnies are once again soaking up the sunshine and enjoying a good lie down in the grass too!

Keith is really enjoying a dig. I think he is looking a bit guilty in this photo!!! ;-)

 

Big Buns and Miss Jay came back inside once it started to heat up, these 2 are very furry and will get hot very quickly!!

We also have welcomed Sugar the Rat to stay with us for the next couple of weeks! I'll have to keep my eye on this little escape artist!!!!

The rain held off today so all the bunnies had a great time outside in the runs.

Miss Jay enjoyed her usual outside hutch and played up and down the ramp. She loves the fresh grass to nibble on too.

Keith went like a crazy boy bunny in spring jumping around the big run today. He was really enjoying himself!!

All the other buns had a good time too, the babies all appear to be growing nicely. It's been a good day!
We look forward to meeting Sugar the Rat tomorrow evening too!

Well it's been a couple of wet and quiet days around here. Milly, Zack & Miss Jay have all made the most of their inside play time and have all made themselves quite at home.

On a personal note, one of our dutch rabbits (Shojo) had her first litter on thursday night / friday morning. 6 gorgeous little bunnies all in good health and so is Mummy Shojo!!!

This is Shojo the Mummy (agouti dutch) and Kurisu the Daddy (black dutch).

Rabbit Vaccinations

It has always been important to get rabbits here in Australia vaccinated against rabbit haemorrhagic disease, or calicivirus.  Now as it is being used in residential areas by councils to cull wild rabbit populations, the need has become quite urgent!  For anyone who has a bunny, please contact your vet and get your bunny vaccinated. Calicivirus is an extremely aggressive virus that is highly contageous and can be spread very quickly. Lets look after our little fluffy ones!!!

A nice cool overcast day made it perfect weather for the bunnies to enjoy a good jump around. Milly & Zack had the big run today and Miss Jay loved running up and down the ramp in the 2 story hutch outside too.

We are looking forward to the next couple of days anxiously awaiting the arrival of Shojo's (our dutch bunny) first litter. She has been a busy nest builder today and looks quite calm and happy today.

A yucky rainy day today so not too much fun outside! Our newest visitors Milly & Zack made themselves at home nicely today. Milly is warming up to us now and Zack is just a happy go lucky kind of guy!

Miss Jay had a nice day quiet day and seemed to be happy watching the rain outside.

Rocky & Tarzan went home this evening. We will miss their songs in the morning! Hope to see you again soon.
